Where Terraza Balear’s concept meets the Swiss Alps: A Luxurious and cozy residence in a mountain ski resort.

OUR TEAM AT TERRAZA BALEAR IS WIDELY RECOGNIZED FOR DESIGNING PROJECTS ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE. OUR LATEST PROJECT IS LOCATED IN VERBIER — A FAIRY-TALE-LIKE VILLAGE IN THE SWISS ALPS WHICH IS THE PERFECT GATEWAY FOR NUMEROUS SKI AREAS.
Following the successful completion of our client's home on the island of Ibiza in 2018, we were again entrusted for designing his 3-bedroom ski resort mountain property located in Verbier, Switzerland.
The Terraza Balear team made sure to respect the genuinity of the site, but at the same time staying true to our authenticity by using natural materials and fabrics, as well as neutral hues throughout the interior and exterior.
Terraza Balear’s designers ensured that every element within the home played its part in defining the property as a whole. Envisioning this property as a contemporary chalet, our vision was to create both warmth and simplicity; to connect each space within the home through design, yet to let nature’s beauty to remain the center of attention; and to create a place where our clients can relax and recharge after skiing or exploring the mountains. Ultimately, this project defines our concept of living.
In the living room, dark accents complement the light, neutral and earthy palette of colors that we at Terraza Balear are known for, in order to create strength in the room and accentuate the space. A clear example of this concept is the Tufty-Time sofa by B&B ITALIA, which is in soft gray, evokes feelings of warmth and coziness. Meanwhile, a compelling blend of diverse, natural and tactile surfaces such as wood, wicker, cushion fabrics and glass accessories, reminds us that this is after all a mountain located residence.
Lighting fixtures have been introduced in the form of premium quality mobile accent lighting. The Captain Flint floor lamp, as well as the Cestita lamp by Santa&Cole together with the glow of candles, create an authentic reading atmosphere.
The dining area forms a unique space together with the living room. The area is light, airy and multifunctional, as simpler, sleek by introducing minimalistic silhouettes. The 6-seat Concorde table by Poliform has been paired with comfortable Isadora chairs to create a focal point for gatherings in this winter holiday home. Elevating the space, Wonderglass’ customizable Flow[t] chandelier is a contemporary yet elegantly design piece inspired by the Venetian lagoons.
Exterior spaces are integral parts of our projects at Terraza Balear. Our approach is to fuse indoor living concepts with the outdoors, allowing our clients to encapsulate themselves in the pristine surrounding nature from the comfort of their home. For instance, by introducing Flexform’s Ortigia armchairs, accompanied by a Meridiano table and Patio carpet, we have achieved true outdoor living and furthered the concept of the “modern chalet”.
Wooden details and a neutral color palette are predominant throughout the seating furniture. Our choice of outdoor furniture integrated with soft lighting invites both hosts and guests to grab a cup of hot chocolate, wrap themselves with a soft blanket and enjoy the magnificent views. Just a couple of steps away, the Minotti’s Flyn bench can host more people at the same time, all while the Lanterna lamps by Paola Lenti create exclusive outdoor lighting effects.
An additional seating area, looking out to some of the most spectacular and breathtaking mountain peaks, is designed in a simpler, toned-down and minimalistic manner. Here Flexform Dafne chairs have paired well with the Branch table by Tribù. A small and chic lamp by Cestita provides enough soft and warm glow to illuminate and decorate the area.
The Terraza Balear project in Verbier is an innovative way of displaying our most refined esthetics and unique style. Our team has successfully designed a splendid version of the modern day chalet in the Swiss Alps. This functional yet warm and inviting space will be used for many years to come.
