Lightness, simplicity and purity in the Mediterranean
Something is fascinating about watching the calm sea. A close look at where the blue of the water ends and the sky begins takes us to a state of serenity and comfort. Terraza Balear was keen to bring that characteristic tranquillity of the Mediterranean to the interiors of its latest project, Costa Azul.
“This project is a search for lightness and intense beauty through a certain lens of the Mediterranean aesthetic - after all, this is our culture”. With these words, Carmen Pujol, Creative Director of Terraza Balear, explains the work done in the villa in the southwest of the island of Mallorca.
The respect for tradition is expressed in a thoughtful choice of materials and the palette of colours: rough textures contrasted with soothing tones. Life in Costa Azul is serene, joyful and relaxed. “It embodies the moods, special sentiments and ideas we respect and then reminds us of them.”
The clever combination of purist lines with sophisticated materials
The living room has been carefully designed to create an area of maximum comfort overlooking the sea. The clever combination of purist lines with sophisticated materials gives a unique personality to the villa's main room. The ensemble, with a relaxed colour palette, makes the most of the natural light coming through a large window. The concept created by Terraza Balear is designed to enjoy daily experiences such as reading, having a conversation or relaxing by the warmth of the fireplace.
The Groundpiece sofa and coffee table are from Flexform by Antonio Citterio. The Sveva armchair from Flexform is by Carlo Colombo. The Duchamp side table is from Minotti by Rodolfo Dordoni.
The warmth of the materials connects with the functionality
The social area par excellence, the dining room, is protected by a wall of wooden lamellas. The warmth of the materials connects with the functionality of the space, designed to host dinners, meetings, and conversations late into the night ... all under the light of an imposing luminaire.
The Mito Bronze luminaires are from Occhio and the Sophie dining chairs are from Poliform by Emmanuel Gallina.
Everything counts when it comes to creating the perfect kitchen
In recent years, the kitchen has become the heart of a home. It is where we spend most of our time and generate most of our memories.
It is a meeting point for all the inhabitants of the house, so designing a welcoming space is crucial. The versatile bulthaup system with anodized aluminium and steel surfaces was chosen for this project to create a delicate and soft atmosphere. From the general layout to the details of the interior drawers, everything counts when it comes to creating the perfect kitchen.
Blurring the boundaries between the interior and exterior
The master bedroom has a balanced and harmonious ambience. It has been designed so that one half is almost a mirror image of the other with the bed being the central focus. On the opposite side, a large glass front blurs the boundaries between the interior and exterior, and leads to the impressive terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
A timeless space in which to admire the powerful nature of the Balearic Island.
A perfect touch of privacy and tranquillity
The whole villa is designed to enjoy the nature that surrounds it. The terraces are oriented towards the Mediterranean Sea. The architecture of the lines is clean and refined. Terraza Balear strived to convey an image of tranquillity throughout the property, and it is in the exterior that the perfect balance is achieved, combining furniture with purist lines and a serene palette. A perfect touch of privacy and tranquillity for a unique project.
In the outdoor dining zone, the Illum table is from Tribù by Merckx & Maes and the dining chairs are from B&B Italia by Antonio Citterio.
